Parent Teacher Association (PTA)
The ISO Parent Teacher Association (PTA) is called the ISOuagadoers and was formed in April, 2003 by parents and teachers who wanted to support ISO on all fronts: students, teachers, parents, and staff.
Its mission is simple: to help facilitate partnerships between home and school so parents, administration, and faculty can work together to complement the education of all ISO students. In the past, the administration was offered help in reorganizing the after school activities, through a grant program money was donated for class-improving ideas, an improvement of the parking lot was realized.
The PTA supports events throughout the year, including:
- Welcome to Ouaga Potluck (September)
- Holiday Festival (December)
- African Night (March)
- Teacher Appreciation Month activities (April)
How can I get involved?
Joining the PTA is easy! Just come to a bi-monthly meeting or contact the ISO office (+226 50.36.21.43, iso@iso.bf). The group is open to all parents or legal guardians of ISO students and all teaching staff at ISO.
The PTA meetings are usually the second and last Tuesday of the month at 7:00 p.m in the ISO library. They are announced in TurtleTalk.
